Abstract

Ironically, researchers performing animal experiments will care for animals as well as sacrifice them at the same time, and a variety of mental stress can disturb the researchers during this process. The feeling of concern and compassion for animals is a natural feature of humanity. Thus, a researcher feeling grief and related mental stress following a laboratory animal¡¯s death is not a surprising phenomenon. The stress generated in the laboratory would not only negatively affect the management of animals and the research results, but also would harm the researchers¡¯ physical and mental health. In this article, we sought to investigate the uniqueness of laboratory animal management and experiment, and also to examine the type and generation frequency of psychological stress in animal laboratory researchers.
